SGPC takes strict notice of Sahibzada's role played by children in a school in Gujarat

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) has taken a strong notice of a video posted on social media, children playing the role of the tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh's Sahibzadas during a program organized by a school in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Preachers of Sikh Mission Gujarat under the Dharam Prachar Committee on the orders of Shiromani Committee President Mr Harjinder Singh Dhami have sought reply from the concerned school, to which the management has apologized in writing. School administrators say the video is from 2019, but now someone has posted it on social media.

The school administrators admitted that this was due to their ignorance of the rules of Sikhism and apologized to the Sikh community for the mistake. He also said that he respects Sikhism and it will not happen again.

Mr Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the SGPC, said that when he came to know about the video yesterday, he had immediately issued an order to investigate it.

He said that although the school administrators had apologized during the investigation and claimed that the video was outdated, the perpetrators of such acts should be stopped.
